Five consoling truths.

Allow these truths to speak as they are read out.

Something may stand out to you from them. Receive what stands out as a gift to your heart.

As a way to begin bring focus to breath and allow yourself to be supported and held by the chair. Release the shoulders and breathe into any spaces that feel tense within the body.

We invite stillness, peace, the Holy Spirit to journey with us through this mediation and for Spirit to speak the truths that we need into our hearts…

It is true that life is hard, and yet my yoke is easy and my burden is light (Matthew 11:28).

It is true that you are not important, and yet do you not know that your name is written in heaven? (Luke 10:20).

It is true that your life is not about you, and yet I live now not my own life, but the life of Christ who lives in me (Galatians 2:20).

It is true that you are not in control, and yet can any of you, for all of your worrying, add a single moment to your span of life? (Luke 12:26).

It is true that you are going to die, and yet neither death nor life …can ever come between us and the love of God (Romans 8:38-39).

Read these slowly through twice and then allow space for these truths to sink into where they’re needed.

If one in particular is needed, welcome it to settle and bring reassurance, to calm the storm and bring peace to anxiety. Read the second parts of each truth once more.

May these truths continue to accompany us as we journey through these times and the truths we need to hear come to us when they’re needed to bring peace.

Amen
