A Dartmoor Summer Retreat

unfurl and awaken

As a fern unfurls given space, light, and nourishment, so your inner being can unfurl as it is nurtured by stillness, rest, and connection. This four-day retreat in a secluded natural setting in the heart of Dartmoor offers time away from life’s everyday demands, and a space to connect deeply with yourself, other women, and God.

As you are guided in contemplative, embodied engagement with nature, silence, sacred writings, creativity, ritual, and movement, you will have the opportunity to awaken to “your one wild and precious life” with intention and kindness, in co-creation with Divine Love.

Your hosts, Rachael and Nicky will cultivate a safe, loving, and brave space that welcomes you to come just as you find yourself. In this space, our stories will be witnessed, our authentic selves celebrated, and our collective wisdom shared in an environment of receptivity and acceptance. Together we will relish the spaciousness and joy that are generated by sharing rest, laughter, and good food.

Who this is for

This retreat is open to interested women of any age and from any background or stream of spirituality. While Nicky’s and Rachael’s perspective and approach are deeply shaped by the Christian contemplative tradition, they also love to draw wisdom and practices from a wider pool. Experience has led them to believe in the profound healing and wisdom that can emerge as we connect with each other across differences, and discover our commonality and deep interconnectedness.

Your hosts, Nicky Temple and Rachael Barham

As your retreat hosts, we draw from many years of combined experience in spiritual direction and contemplative retreat facilitation, as well as decades of mutually encouraging and transformative friendship.

Alongside our shared interest in contemplative and mystical spirituality, we also both love wild swimming, good food, deep conversation, and spontaneous dancing!

We believe in the power of gathering in community to remember, enjoy, and embody the flow of Divine Love together. Our hope is that, as women, we will support each other to live awakening, compassionate, joyful, regenerative lives for all and in service of our collective healing and wholeness.
